Abstract Guidelines

Welcome to the communications submission process for the 13th World Endodontic Congress 2022. All presentations will be conducted in-person at the Congress venue.

DATES TO REMEMBER:

Online scientific submission opening date: March 10th, 2022
Deadline for sending submission: July 15th, 2022
Notification of acceptance/rejection of submission will be sent by 31th of July 2022, any withdrawal of work must be communicated before this date.
All presentations must be uploaded through the platform by: 1st of October, 2022
The presentation of submissions will take place at the event from 9th till 12th of November 2022

SELECTION CRITERIA

Authors may be co-authors of several submissions, but may only present as first authors in one project.

All co-authors must agree to send the submission.

Submissions that have already been or will be soon published may not be represented.

PREPARATION OF SUBMISSION ABSTRACTS

Abstracts for scientific presentations must be written in English not exceeding 350 words.
They must include the following sections:

  • Objective
  • Concise description of the experimental design, and materials and methods
  • Results of data and statistics analysis
  • Conclusions
  • Funding source(s)

The templates for the presentations will be available through the congress website.
Once the abstract is submitted, the applicants will receive electronic confirmation through the mail. Changes to the submitted abstract may be made with the deadline of the last day of submission.

PRESENTATION OF ORAL RESEARCH

An Oral Research presentation must be a report of a scientific or clinical investigation, where each speaker will have a total time of 15 minutes, with 10 minutes for formal presentation and 5 minutes for questions and discussion.

RESEARCH POSTERS

The presentation of the Research Posters should be a report of a clinical or scientific research shown in an ePoster. The ePoster should clearly explain the methodology and results of the research project, as well as the presented material should be visible from a distance of at least one metre. At least one of the presenters should be available throughout the ePoster session to discuss the project with interested readers. All ePosters must be designed in English. The author or co-author must speak English or otherwise bilingual English brochures must be provided to participants. Posters will be displayed on digital touch screens.

The time for presentation / discussion (3 min / 5 min) of each ePoster will be no more than 8 minutes.

The ePoster will be exhibited during the congress; the presentation and discussion will be organized outside the normal program and may be in some cases in Spanish, however it should be taken into consideration that some questions must be answered in English for some jurors and/or congress participants.

The dimensions of the ePoster should conform to the following conditions: size 57.25 x 101.81 cm. font size greater than 18 points (smaller sizes are difficult to read on the exhibition screens). It is also recommended to use Arial, Tahoma or Verdana fonts, and ensure that the inserted graphics/images are of good quality. Convert to JPEG for submission.

PRESENTATION OF CLINICAL CASES

A clinical case presentation should be a demonstration of one or more endodontic cases that are of interest to physicians due to their treatment complexity, the application of advanced therapeutic techniques or diagnostics. Cases of didactic value or those which describe clinical advice or time-saving procedures may also be presented. The speaker will have a total time of 10 minutes, with 7 minutes for presentation and 3 minutes for questions and discussion. The case must be presented in English and by no more than two speakers.

CLINICAL PLENARY SESSIONS

It could be a presentation of a clinical or technical procedure or an interesting scientific phenomenon from 10 to 20 minutes, repeated every 30 minutes. The speaker must remain at the table during the half-day session. A speaker can use his own laptop to display data or graphics. Any need for equipment will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Models and X-rays can be used to improve presentation. All equipment and material must be removed at the end of the session.

FREE LECTURES

All those who have registered for the IFEA 2022 Congress can participate in the presentation of a topic for a "Free Lecture".

It must be an oral presentation given by no more than two speakers on topics related to Endodontics, which have not been previously exposed. A summary curriculum vitae of the speaker(s) and the topic of the free lecture to be presented should be sent. The official language of all IFEA World Congresses is English. Abstracts should be written in English and should not exceed 350 words. The Scientific Committee will review submitted abstracts and select presentations that are suitable for the Congress. Presenters will be allowed a total time of 30 minutes, with 25 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for questions and/or discussion.

All accepted presentations will also be published in a book containing all abstracts and will be distributed to all participants of the event. In addition, an award will be given for participation. 

There is no prize in this category.
